Computer Software
Computer software is a general term used to describe computer programs that
perform some task on a computer system. The term includes application software
such as Office Software for
business (word processors, spreadsheets, presentation, databases, email and

Examples of system software include: Microsoft Windows XP & Windows Vista, server operating systems like Microsoft Small Business Server or Windows Server 2003. System software can also include security software and utilities.
Software, unlike hardware, is typically no sold, but rather it is licensed for specific uses.
