The Most Reliable Operating System! By building on the proven Windows® 2000 operating system, Windows® XP Professional
delivers a reliable foundation you can count on to keep your computer up and
running when you need it most. Not only is Windows® XP more reliable, it also

delivers the new standard in reliability and performance. This operating system
is designed for businesses of all sizes and for users who demand the most from
their computing experience.**
Benefits
Designed for reliability, security and privacy, high performance, and ease
of use, the Windows® XP operating system provides a host of benefits for business
and home users. A clean and simple desktop, rock-solid reliability, and easy-to-use
features that take advantage of the digital age all contribute to the value
of Windows® XP.
Enhancements in real-time voice, video, and data communications will allow
the PC to become a center of communications and creativity beyond just e-mail
and instant messaging. Windows® XP will also allow the user to connect back
to the desktop from any location, and support for new wireless networks will
be built in. Windows® XP will unify the user's support experience by enabling
the user to provide temporary and secure control of their PC over the Internet
to whomever can best help them.
Windows® XP takes an end-to-end approach to how people transfer videos and
pictures onto their computer, how they use them on their PC and other devices,
and how they share them, whether in person or through e-mail, over the Web,
or through removable media like DVDs and CDs. It extends this experience through
applications that help users buy music and videos, mobile devices, services
for saving your music on the Internet, and more. Windows® XP will make it easier
for households to share a single PC and share pictures, music, files, printers,
and other resources.
Note: This version of Microsoft Windows XP cannot be upgraded from earlier versions of Windows. If your operating system is Windows 2000/ME/98 you must backup your data before installation. This OEM version will only allow a clean Install, and your existing data will be deleted.

Windows 2000, XP basically same OS is the best operating system put out until now. 7 ultimate now has that claim to fame. It is a combination of the best of both XP and Vista, however more enhanced than either. Unlike Vista, it doesn't hog your resources. unlike XP and vista, it installs on your computer in 25 minutes or less depending on your haerdware, and it loads up in 5 minutes or less. Until now I would have never considered giving up my XP pro SP 3 OS, because it is more reliable than Vista, however Wiondows both.
XP Pro is better

I have both OS systems,Vista Pro and XP Pro. XP Pro is far better to work with. I found that I dislike Vista; I've had to re-install it twice because of system crashes.

Far better than Vista, (Learning curve? Seriously? Vista is the worst OS known to mankind. Sluggish, big, and has the worst compatibility with hardware that I've ever seen.)
If you're sick of Vista then get this. :)
Thank you

I am glad I can still buy XP Pro. Having a business with a lot a equipment that is not compatible with Vista, it helps being able to purchase XP Pro for any new computer. Microsoft blow it and tried to bully everyone into Vista and it backfired. I will buy Vista When all the kinks are sorted out, until then I am using XP Pro

I don't even know if that guy even knows what he is talking about. Crashing? Maybe its your own human error? Or the computer you have? All the computers I have been building all have XP on them, and if you are wondering what computers I build they are all gaming computers. None of them are crashing or failing. Ask my cousin, uncle, and myself. All the XP computers I built are still alive today and the oldest computer I built with XP is about 3 years old and I have never had to reinstall or reformat anything. XP is the way to go.
* The above
values are for physical, not usable memory.
The amount of
memory that your system reports, is not always the amount of actual installed
memory. For example, if you have 4GB installed, 32 bit versions of Windows will
typically report 3.2GB due to a limitation of Windows itself. Also note
that different Windows programs report available and maximum memory differently,
which can be confusing. If you find that you need more memory, we suggest
expanding your system memory, since this is the most effective performance
increase, and the one that is easiest to perform.
